Alcohol & DV cases
I have been practicing law for fifteen years. In that time, I have handled hundreds of Domestic Violence cases. Here's what I've learned: Alcohol use is present in almost all of the cases I see. Although the use is
generally not to the level of intoxication, it is nonetheless present.
Most Courts will order that someone convicted of a Domestic Violence crime involving alcohol also obtain an alcohol evaluation. These evaluations range from one 8 hour program,
called an Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS), all the way to a two year program.
